Curriculum: Middle School

The Middle School curriculum has been carefully designed with the adolescent in mind. The curriculum is structured and challenging, yet students are actively involved in the learning process through class discussions, experiments, and field trips. Our dedicated and nurturing faculty provides an excellent learning environment and the curriculum enables the student to progressively develop independently and critically, all in preparation for their transition to the Upper School.

The St. David's standard course of study includes English, math, history, science, and foreign language. Each student is offered a variety of electives, from choir to computer, as well as numerous after-school activities.

Fundamental skills include, but are not limited to:

• Study and test preparation
• Research and problem solving
• Essay and creative writing
• Language development
• Time management
• Music appreciation
• Dramatic acting
• Athletic training

* Advanced coursework is designed as a year or more ahead of the standard course. Honors courses have the same basic content as the standard course, but with assignments and reading requirements at a more challenging level and accelerated pace.
