Applying to St. David's School

Your interest in the St. David's
admission application indicates your commitment to providing the
best possible education for your child. Be assured that our admission process will
provide a thorough and impartial evaluation of your child's application. We also
want your experience to be smooth and free of unnecessary frustration. The application process explains
our admission procedure in detail and outlines the important deadlines.
However, we encourage you to initiate the application process at your earliest convenience.
At the heart of the application process is the opportunity for you to become better
acquainted with St. David's. Although we welcome any informal call or visit, we
strongly encourage you to attend one of our Open House
sessions. All applicants and their parents for grades K - 12 should join us then
for this informational session.
If you have questions at any time, please do not hesitate to call the Admissions
Office at 919-782-3331 or email Teresa Wilson,
Director of Admissions or Virginia Matthews,
Director of Lower School Admissions. We want to be helpful in every possible way.
Thank you again for your interest!
St. David's School Admissions Policy:
St. David's seeks students with average and above average ability who can contribute
to and benefit from the school's college-preparatory program. Students are selected
for admission to the school on the basis of academic potential, school achievement,
interest in and readiness for the school's programs, willingness to contribute to
the school community, and appropriateness of the match between the family and the
school. Selection is also based on the completed application, the results of admission
test, teacher evaluations, and a writing sample. In all cases,
the school retains the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether or not
to select a student for admission into the school's programs. St. David's is open
to all qualified students regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, or
national origin.
