Dear St. David's Community,
Welcome to the beginning of another great year at our school and welcome to Friends
of St. David's School!
Friends of St. David's School is the parent organization of our school. Being a
part of Friends is a great way to get involved in our children's education and to
make new friends. As a parent of a St. David's student, you are officially a member
of Friends of St. David's School. The theme for Friends this year is "Encourage
one another and build each other up," which is taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
My prayer is that Friends will be a source of encouragement and support to our parents,
students, faculty and staff.
We have many Friends events throughout the year, and our first official gathering
is the Back-to-School Picnic on Monday, August 20 at 6 pm. This fun, informal time
is one of the highlights of the year, and you will not want to miss it!
As you look through the handbook, please consider where you would be willing to
serve. There is a place for everyone, no matter what you time commitments or talents
are. Some committees work througout the year, while others are solely for a one
day event. You may call or email one of the committee chairs if you have questions
about that committee.
This year we have the ability for the first time to sign up for committes on our
website. It will be tremendously helpful to have each of you simply select the committees
that you would like to assist by completing the Committee
Sign Up area in the Friends section of the website.
On the last page of this section you will find the dates of our monthly Friends
meetings. I would like to personally invite you to attend these meetings. You will
find that they provide a fun way to see what is happening at our school, to stay
connected and "in the loop," and also to have some great fellowship with
other parents.
I consider it a tremendous blessing to be able to be a part of St. David's School,
and look forward to working with each of you in the coming year. Please do not hesitate
