Field Trips: Eighth Grade Trip

This three-day field trip
of the 8th grade takes the students to Northern Virginia and Washington,
DC. Students learn first-hand about the federal government and experience the beauty
of our nation's capital. Recently, Senator Burr's staff provided a tour of the Capitol
and arranged a White House tour. Also during the trip, students visited various
memorials to our nation's Presidents including Lincoln, Washington, and Jefferson;
as well as several memorials to soldiers fallen in our country's major wars including
World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Students also visit Arlington
National Cemetery and tour the home of Robert E. Lee, and the Air and Space Museum
's new Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly , Virginia, where they tour its two aviation
and space hangers housing three levels of aircraft and the space shuttle Enterprise.
Scheduled museum visits include the popular Spy Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and
the National Archives.
