Field Trips: Eleventh Grade

To assist juniors in their college admission
process, the College Placement Office plans a two-day tour of four East-Coast
colleges. To give these college-bound students a better understanding of the different
types of colleges and universities available, a variety of schools is selected;
from small liberal arts colleges to large public universities, in settings that
vary from quiet, picturesque towns to large metropolitan areas. By visiting schools
with different philosophies and backgrounds, students gain a better frame of reference
when choosing an institution for their undergraduate years. In addition to visiting
these campuses, students tour various famous sites and dine at local restaurants.
Schools that have been included on the tour in recent years include: The University
of Georgia, the University of Mary Washington, The George Washington University,
the United States Naval Academy, Dickinson College, Emory University, Clemson University,
and the University of Richmond.
