College Counseling

The role of college counseling is to help students translate their unique abilities and interests into post-secondary education goals, and ultimately, satisfying careers.  It is our intent to provide students with the tools, resources, and individual support necessary to discover the colleges that best fit their skills and aspirations.  To that end, we help students understand the admission process, consider upper school curriculum options, research colleges, narrow their choices, and apply to a variety of suitable schools, all the while keeping in mind that the Lord has a plan for each of them.  We strive to make the process manageable, personal, and enjoyable for each family.

Boasting an annual college acceptance rate of 100%, our students are offered admission to selective colleges and universities including Brown, Harvard, Princeton, NYU, UCLA, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Chicago, Wheaton, Davidson, Duke, UNC-CH, NC State, Wake Forest, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, Boston College and Villanova University.

St. David’s School is an institutional member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and supports the membership policies and ethical principles included in their Statement of Principles of Good Practice.  Our students are encouraged to read and abide by the NACAC Student Rights and Responsibilities.

Exploring College Options Information Session:   Sunday, May 15 at 7:00 PM

Exploring College Options is a special recruitment program sponsored by the undergraduate admissions offices of five of the country's leading universities: Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford University. At this event, representatives from the five universities will conduct brief slide presentations about their institution and answer your questions about the sometimes-mystifying world of college admissions. You will learn what distinguishes one fine university from another, what competitive colleges look for in the selection process, and what you can do to enhance your college application.
The program starts promptly at 7:00pm. We suggest arriving 15 to 20 minutes beforehand to complete the sign-in process and find a seat. Programs typically last one and a half hours. Please feel free to bring your parent or guardian to the program, and if you have a friend who you think might be interested, please direct him/her to this website for registration information. www.exploringcollegeoptions.org
